Welcome to the 2024 Bundoran 10! We are delighted to have you with us for the event! Here is what you need to know ahead of the event and also for race day!

Race information

Friday | 5k

Those taking part in the 5km run on Friday night, should assemble on the green area outside Waterworld on Atlantic Way no later than 7:15pm on the evening.

Saturday | 10 mile

Any participants expected to finish in TWO HOURS OR OVER, are advised to start with the 10 mile walkers at 10am for a better event experience as the cut off time at the finish line will be 1pm.

Walkers:
Those taking part in the 10 mile walk should assemble in the car park in front of the Allingham Arms known as the West End Car Park no later than 09:45am on the day to set off at 10am sharp.

Runners:
Due to increased numbers in this year’s event, we ask all participants to assemble in the car park in front of the Allingham Arms known as the West End Car Park no later than 10:30am on the day to set off at 11am sharp. All participants will be segregated from the car park based on their predicted finish time. There will be a DJ present a warm-up take place from 10:40am. Participants with an expected finish time of over 75mins are asked to access the start of the run from this car park and via the pathway at the side of American House. Participants with an expected finish time of less than 75mins will be taken from the car park past the start line to assemble for the start of the race. We would ask entrants to use their own judgment in terms of positioning at the start line with faster runners to the front. Please note you must pass under the start line gantry to activate your chip time.

Please follow the instructions of the stewards and Gardaí at all times.

Race packs are in the process of being sent out to those who registered with an Irish or Northern Ireland address. If you registered from overseas you will need to collect your pack on race morning.

If your pack has not arrived by race day, do not worry. We can issue you with a new number on the morning and your original one will be deleted.

If your training has not gone to plan and you need to change the name on your number, that is no problem.

You can make the change via our online participant list just click on your name and enter your date of birth to proceed.

All changes must be done online by midnight Thursday 29th Feb.

Please note it is your responsibility to give the new participant the race pack that was posted to you.

All race numbers and t-shirts ordered by Tuesday 23rd January have been posted to the address provided at time of registration. Every effort has been made to ensure timely arrival of your pack. However, in the unlikely event that your number has not arrived, do not worry as you can collect a replacement at our information point and your original number will be deleted, a cost of €5 will be charged for all Bibs left at home. Please do not give your number to another person as results will be affected (male wearing female number, age cats and teams also effected and not insured).

If you have registered online AFTER Tuesday 23rd January, your race number Bib will be ready for collection at the information point indicated below.

There will be no entry on the day.

All queries should be directed to the information point at the times below, no changes can be made via social media messaging to ensure the quality of the entrant database for the results

The information point will be the rear entrance of Waterworld (opposite the playground) – directions here. It will be open on Friday 1st March from 5:00pm-8:30pm and on Saturday 2nd March from 08:00am-10:15am ONLY. The information point is located here and also indicated in black on the 5km route map below.

For health and safety reasons and as the event is open road, no headphones are allowed to be worn while participating.

Toilets will be available beside the Tourist Office at the Bridge (200m from start line). These will be signposted on the day. Toilets will also be available at the finish line in the Salty Shell Café facility. Toilet facilities will be available at Tullaghan Community Centre at the 4 mile point. Portaloos will be available outside Waterworld. We would ask entrants not to use the toilet facilities in hotels as these are for residents only.

Ample car parking is available across the town and also at Main Beach Car Park – finish line. Please note that there are no parking charges in operation at this time in Bundoran.

There are 3 water stations:
1 – 4mile point - Tullaghan Community Centre
2 – 7mile point - under bypass bridge on N15
3 –Finish pen

We are using Tetra Top sustainable water brands to give hydration and an eco-friendly alternative to bottled water. We would encourage entrants to use bins provided if possible which can be found 100m past the water stations.

The Irish Red Cross and a number of medical personnel will be along the route throughout the event and in radio communication for rapid dispatch to any incidents.

We ask all participants to follow the stewards’ guidance at the finish line. There will be two funnels based on your bib colour for first and second round entrants. There will be water, bananas and snacks at the finish line.

Each participant registered before January 23rd will receive a medal and this will be handed to them after they cross the finish line. There will be a separate funnel for those registered after the 23rd of January wearing a different colour bib. After you have completed the race please follow the steward’s instructions, slowly and carefully moving through the finish area.

The total prize fund is €2660. Prize presentations will take place close to the finish line for the first 5 male and female finishers of the 5k and 10 mile races. All other prize winners will be contacted after the event once results are confirmed. There will be prizes for the first 5 men and women only in the 5k and then prizes for the first 5 men and women in the 10 mile, plus the top 3 in the following categories W40+, W50+, W60+, W70+, M40+, M50+, M60+ and M70+ as well as prizes for the first three teams male and female.
